Kilns for Grinding Media

Ceramic bonded abrasives are mainly used in precision grinding. The binder consists of high-quality natural and artificially mineral raw materials.

Precision grinding operations are grinding applications that require specific dimensions and tolerances. Precision grinding applications include external cylindrical grinding (OD grinding), internal cylindrical grinding (ID grinding), surface grinding and centerless grinding. For the operations conventional grinding wheels are used in various forms (discs, segments, pots and plates) but diamond and cBN grinding wheels can be used depending on the application.

As for external cylindrical grinding of flexible or small turned parts, for surface grinding of tools and cutting tools, for gear grinding and correction or modification of profiles of gears, for roll grinding, regrinding and reworking of rollers in the steel, aluminum, brass, copper, Paper and textile industry, etc.

Our goal is to design an individual kiln plant with which you can achieve optimum product characteristics.

In this case, the evaporation phase and the temperature accuracy occupy a key position. Depending on the composition, product size and properties, firing temperatures of up to 1320°C are used. To meet the strict requirements of TA Luft, a downstream in the Thermal Oxidation Chamber is an obligation.

German Kiln Technology (GKT) is an industrial furnace manufacturer for sintering lines for the firing of ceramic-bonded grinding wheels. For this purpose we offer a wide variety of systems, depending on capacity.

Depending on requirements and application, different kilns types are available.

GKT Kiln option

  • Shuttel kilns up to 1350°C
  • Bell type kilns up to 1350°C
  • Tunnel kilns up to 1350°C
  • Tailored thermal waste gas treatment up to 1000°C
